albus the lowest lobes may touch but there is no triangular sinus when looking down the stem from the tip of the leaf. The leaf has clearer teeth.

hybridus the leaf is larger, less circular and has fewer teeth except at the tip. If you look down the leaf from the tip there is a clear triangular sinus and the basal lobes often overlap a lot.

A large area of Petasites like this will clear the ground by preventing anything else growing there.

Looking down the leaf the heart-shaped sinus is distinctive.
