Catapodium species - Fern-grasses

Catapodium rigidum - Fern-grass, this is a low plant with narrow spike of short branches with spikelets having no awns. As the latin name suggests it is quite stiff.

It is locally common as a weed grass on roadsides or very thin poor soils.
