Abies - Silver Firs
The trees are symmetrical and usually very straight. They have upright cones which break up while still on the branch. The foliage is smooth and soft, not harsh, and usually blunt-tipped. The leaves arise from sucker-like bases on a shoot leaving circular scars when they fall.
Abies amabilis - this has several common names such as Red Fir, Beautiful Fir or Pacific Silver Fir.
