Gnaphalium species - Cudweeds
Gnaphalium uliginosum - Marsh Cudweed
This is a common plant of damper waste ground. It is much branched from low down and smaller (4-20cm). The leaves are wooly on both sides.
Gnaphalium sylvaticum - Heath Cudweed
This is less common. It is taller (8-60cm) than G. uliginosum and has a woody stem. The leaves are thinner and one-veined. They are wooly only below and reduce in size up the stem.
