Agrostis species - Bents
These grasses all have small spikelets with one flower in large panicles which are open at flowering. This family can be difficult to separate and important characters are the ligules, whether the panicle is closed after flowering and the presence of stolons or rhizomes.
Agrostis stolonifera - Creeping Bent is a common street and waste ground grass.
