Crocus species

There are a number of Crocus species which are garden escapes and widely naturalised. 

Crocus vernus is probably the commonest species and has a purple tube, unless the whole flower is white.

Crocus tommasinianus has a white tube.

Colchicum autumnale is often planted in grassland in parks, but does become established and spread locally.
